BIRMINGHAM – The Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs (ADVA), together with the Birmingham VA Medical Center, will host a Supermarket of Veterans Benefits from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19th. The event will be held in the auditorium of the Birmingham VA Medical Center.
The Supermarket is part of a statewide outreach campaign to help veterans, family members, and survivors receive valuable information about state, federal, and non-governmental services and benefits that are designed specifically for them.
“The ADVA is proud to partner with the Birmingham VA Medical Center for this year’s event,” said Clyde Marsh, Commissioner of the ADVA. “The Supermarket of Veterans Benefits is a tremendous opportunity for veterans to come to one central location to gain important information about their entitlements and receive services they have rightly earned.”
In addition to state VA programs and benefits, the Birmingham VA will have representatives on hand to provide information on enrollment, Women Veterans, and much more.
Marsh will join Thomas Smith, director of the Birmingham VA Medical Center to open the event at 10:00 a.m.
The Birmingham VA Medical Center is located at 700 19th Street, South and the event will be held in the auditorium on the 9 ½ floor. Free parking will be available in the VA parking deck, 2415 7th Avenue South and shuttle service will be provided.
