Over the course of the dambrots first three albums, singer/percussionist dawn marie and songwriter/multi-instrumentalist al james have explored many approached to acoustic music, from straight folk minimalism, to hand-percussion heavy acoustic pop, to 60’s/80’s influenced folk rock. New York Radio legend Ken Dashow is one of the top rated classic rock DJs in the country, is the host of Q-104.3’s “Breakfast With The Beatles”, and an emcee at Beatlefest for many years. Ken has given praise to the dambrots music, and said “I love dawn marie's voice… Trends always come and go, but singing and songwriting will always win at the end of the day.”

DJ Mike Flegar of New York City’s independent WHCS has made the dambrots a regular feature of his popular mid-day show, and states “the dambrots use lyrics encrypted in beautiful, harmonious vocals, that could lull you to dream and make you weep dry.
