Acoustic pop band the dambrots have been receiving widespread praise in both the mainstream and independent scenes

/UCWE/ - Acoustic pop band the dambrots have been receiving widespread praise in both the mainstream and independent scenes. This press release contains a sampling of what has been said about the dambrots by music industry personalities.

the dambrots are an acoustic pop duo that critics have compared to Suzanne Vega, Simon and Garfunkle, Stevie Nicks, and The Byrds. Over the course of the dambrots first three albums, singer/percussionist dawn marie and songwriter/multi-instrumentalist al james have explored many approached to acoustic music, from straight folk minimalism, to hand-percussion heavy acoustic pop, to 60’s/80’s influenced folk rock. All 3 dambrots CDs have been produced by Eric Rachel, whose credits include Pattie Smith Group, The Misfits, Skid Row, Saves The Day, and Graham Parker. Three CDs into their stated goal of releasing eight color-schemed CDs, the dambrots have been attracting attention and gaining praise both from mainstream and independent scene.

New York Radio legend Ken Dashow is one of the top rated classic rock DJs in the country, is the host of Q-104.3’s “Breakfast With The Beatles”, and an emcee at Beatlefest for many years. Ken has given praise to the dambrots music, and said “I love dawn marie's voice… Trends always come and go, but singing and songwriting will always win at the end of the day.”

DJ Mike Flegar of New York City’s independent WHCS has made the dambrots a regular feature of his popular mid-day show, and states “the dambrots use lyrics encrypted in beautiful, harmonious vocals, that could lull you to dream and make you weep dry. Complexly structured rhythms disguised as simple are the perfect accompaniment to this new and upcoming Folk/Pop duo. Nice on the ears, nice on the soul.”

Two dambrots songs were recently ranked in a list of all time best break-up songs by a website devoted to relationship breakups, Bitterslut.com. They offered the following advice to their members: “When you find yourself deep in the depths of heartache from a breakup, find a band such as the dambrots with albums like "especially not love" and "how to fall in love in 20 minutes," to remind yourself that are not alone with your pain. Their words will echo back to you as if they are your own.”

the dambrots music can be purchased at major online CD sellers, including CD Baby and Tower Records, and all major MP3 sites, including iTunes, Napster, and Sony Music.
