Kung Fu Association Formed to Unite Martial Artists Around the World
/UCWE/ - James Theros of Indianapolis, Indiana recently founded the Level 10 Kung Fu Association to unite martial artists from around the world ad to help spread and promote this beautiful and rare original shaolin kung fu system to the world.
Theros is seeking qualified martial artists, particularly qualified Tae Kwon Do Masters and instructors to help them better understand their core martial art.
"This is a unique opportunity that I am providing," says Theros, "as, up until now, this art has been basically taught behind closed doors to only a handful of students in the United States."
"I want to share with the world this rare and treasured art and am seeking a handful of individuals to help me accomplish this task."
There have been many discussions over the past 30+ years as to whether or not a form of Korean Kung Fu actually exists. "That's a tricky question," Theros says, "As it is somewhat true, but not completely." "The system we teach has been given many names but the most common one is "Sip Pal Gi", short for "Sip Pal BAn Byung Gi" which is loosely translated as "18 Weapons System" or "18 Skills System."
"The system was created at the famed Shaolin Temple in China and then brought to Korea by a few Chinese Masters who then further developed the art," According to Master Theros's resources.
"I have had the privilege of studying with 3 masters of this particular art form and all 3 have different stories about the origin but the information I mentioned seems to be where the common ground lies within the actual history of this art."
We teach a very traditional system of Northern Shaolin Kung Fu. We focus on low, deep stances and powerful blocks, strikes and kicks. We also use a full array of weapons including (but not limited to) the Long Staff, spear, broadsword, straight sword, 3 sectional staff, and others.
