Friends of a man killed in drive-by shooting are gathering on January 14 to celebrate his life

/UCWE/ - Friends of the late Edward Bibb, who was shot to death December 21, 2005, as he drove in a car near Forest Park in St. Louis, are gathering at noon on Saturday, January 14 at Jody T’s tavern, where he played pocket billiards, to celebrate his life.

The late Mr. Bibb, age 66, was known for wearing a flat-top “skid lid” hat and was affectionately called “St. Louis Eddie B” when playing pocket billiards at Jody T’s tavern, 6594 Scanlan Avenue. Starting at noon on January 14, friends of Mr. Bibb will gather at Jody T’s in homage to him. Anyone who wants to attend the gathering is invited.

Mr. Bibb, a resident of Shrewsbury, was working as a courier and was driving south on Skinker Boulevard December 21 when his vehicle hit a parked car. Police at first thought he had been killed in the crash, but a small-caliber bullet wound was found in his forehead during an autopsy on December 22.

Crash scene witnesses reported hearing gunshots and that a gold-colored Ford Taurus was driving parallel to Mr. Bibb’s vehicle at the time shots reportedly were fired. A $5,000 reward has been posted for information leading to arrest and conviction of anyone involved with the fatal shooting. Anyone with related information is asked to call the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department at (314) 444 5371.

An expert at pocket billiards, Mr. Bibb built custom-made pool cues as a hobby. The $5,000 reward has been posted by friends of Mr. Bibb who wish to be anonymous.
