/UCWE/ - The popular ABC morning show "Good Morning America" is changing its anchors to compete with NBC's "Today" show. So part of this change the has to do with longtime GMA anchor Charles Gibson or those that watch the program regiliously affectionately know him as Charlie Gibon, will be leaving the show on WEdnesday.
The president of ABC News David Westin is going to try something that has never been tried before on a morning show of this nature and go forward with two female anchors. So the co-anchors for "Good Morning America" will be Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts.
The top rated morning show is looking for that edge to keep on top of the heap.
This comes on the heels of popular fixture on the talk show "The View" Meredith Vieira moved to NBC to replace Katie Couric and sit by the side of Matt Lauer on the "Today Show."
Charles Gibson will be replacing both Bob Woodruff and pregnant Elizabeth Vargas on World News Tonight.
