/UCWE/ - American Idol may be looking for you or maybe not, but nonetheless the top rated future pop idol competition will be underway on August 8, 2006 in Los Angeles, California. This will kick off their 6th season and singing star hopefuls have another shot at fame.

The competition intially will hit seven cities, and this will take place a week earlier than last year, the five week search will kick off in Los Angeles and make its way to San Antonio, Texas, Birmingham, Alabama, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Memphis Tennessee, East Rutherford, New Jersey and closing it out on September 19, 2006 in Seattle Washington.

So for those of you that think that you have what it takes go to www.americanidol.com and find out how you can be a part of the action. Remember that you have to be between the ages of 16 and 28 to qualify, oh we should let you know that you have to be eligible to work in the United States. So you have until August 6, 2006 to get your information in.

This latest season of American may featureAndrew Lloyd Webber and Carole King as guests, but that is not confirmed as of yet and is more of a wish list for the American Idol producers according to reports.
