/UCWE/ Palm Springs, CA, - Q Television Network (Pink Sheets: QBID) announced today that its first live road show, in Palm Springs, was a tremendous success with 32,000 plus potential subscribers demanding to get the station covered by their carriers. Q Television also had six full days of a 1.5 hour live broadcast on the Time Warner Cable system (channels 18 & 20) in Cochella Valley.
All potential subscriber information was entered into a database, and Q Television is aggressively reaching out to all the cable stations mentioned by the interested parties. The network is actively focused on bringing Q Television to the homes of these 32,000 plus viewers.
The live broadcast on Time Warner simultaneously featured celebrity guests and coverage of events surrounding the Dinah Shore Golf Tournament which was held at the Rivera and Doral Resorts and The White Party, which was held at the Windham Resort as well as other venues around the valley. The White Party is one of the largest gay male events and Dinah Shore is one of the largest lesbian events in the country.
"This first road show was an incredible success -- we have always known we have a great station that is entirely unique; but, we had no idea what the reception would be to our live road show. To have 32,000 plus people sign up to support Q Television is just incredible," said Frank Olsen, President and CEO of Q Television Network. "We are the network of choice for the GLBT community and are well on our way to receiving carriage coverage -- the viewers are demanding Q Television."
Q Television will continue its road show over the next two months to include the following list of cities: Seattle, San Francisco, Miami, Chicago, Boston, New York, Washington, D.C. and Providence. The road show is designed to help increase carrier interest and customer base, and to build awareness in RCN viewing areas.
