Bronx born hip hop artist Oktober Zero releases his upcoming album "The Art of Raw" November 8th on Raptivism Records

NEW YORK, NY /UCWE/ - NYC lyricist Oktober Zero returns Nov. 8th with a profound lyrical barrage -- "The Art of Raw". Hailing from the birthplace of hip-hop, the South Bronx, Oktober Zero is known for releases such as "Less Than Zero" and "Projekt:Building". Originally put on by underground legend Bobbito Garcia aka DJ Cucumber Slice, Oktober Zero was briefly part of the group "2 for 5" with Ace Lover. His single "Reset The Game" with J-Live is an underground classic, and "The Art of Raw" is filled with similar jewels.

A mystical theme runs through "The Art of Raw", with Oktober featured on the cover with images traditionally associated with Santeria, theAfro-Christian syncretic religion. Oktober's style is syncretic too; from street tales like "Twelve Cops Shot" to spiritual tales like "Muero Otro Dia (Die Another Day)" to "Black Magic Chick", the multi-layered flavors of the Bronx is present all at once through the whole album.

Produced exclusively by the UK's Q-Tones, "The Art of Raw" is also an example of how raw hip-hop is melding with the sophisticated technologies of tomorrow. Q-Tones and Oktober recorded the whole album without ever meeting each other via use of the internet.

Philosophical b-boys and girls, fans of boom bap, and lyrical heads will all appreciate the latest offering from the Bronx's youngest son.
