LONDON, ENGLAND, /UCWE/ - Almost five years after its original publication on the Internet, the Updated King James Version (UKJV) of the Bible is now available in print.
The Updated King James Version retains the unique structure of the King James Version’s English and makes it easier to read and understand by replacing words and phrases that are hard or archaic in nature.
This was accomplished by replacing antiquated expressions in the KJV with alternatives selected by contextual comparison and based on examining the original Hebrew or Greek words.
As opposed to the New King James Version (NKJV) the UKJV fully retains the original sentence structure of the KJV, whilst clarifying words and expressions which are no longer in use or which have changed meaning.
As the KJV, which has survived for almost four centuries, the UKJV is based completely on the traditional text (Textus Receptus) rather than the Alexandrian Manuscripts (Westcott-Hort) on which all modern translations have been based (including the NKJV).
The UKJV gives Christians who prefer the traditional text a new option, while helping to give a clearer understanding of the message of the King James Bible.
