AuthorsintheSpotLight.com Features Author and Clown, Forrest Wheeler, in Online Interview

/UCWE/ - Using the Power of Humor, is packed with simple but incredibly powerful processes and secrets that will allow you to take control of your life using the power of your mind. Do not underestimate what seems like a simple idea. By embracing just a few secrets you have the potential to transform your life forever.

The author of this book is not supposed to exist. It was all a mistake which happened in 1933 when a 20-year-old girl became pregnant by her 17-year-old cousin. A failed attempt to 'erase' this mistake was to leave him in a warm oven with the glass door closed. If it had not been for his grandmother who discovered him, he would have smothered. He was left permanently brain damaged as a result.

Forrest Wheeler grew up in an abusive dysfunctional household where his existence was found to be annoying. He was an outcast in his community, barely tolerated in school, and shunned. By the time he was eighteen he was inflamed with a constant rage.

It is now sixty years later. He has a wonderful marriage and two great children who are fulfilling their own lives with humor and adventure. He took his Masters Degree in Education Administration to the Far East where we worked with children from twenty-three different nationalities. Upon retirement he became a clown, volunteering in hospitals and throughout the community. This adventure discovering the power of humor has taken him all over the world, most memorably to Afghanistan in 2002 on a mercy mission to deliver medical and food supplies collected by Dr. Patch Adams of the Gesundheit Foundation. And of course, as "Muggins" the clown, to coax some laughter out of that war-torn country wherever possible.

How all this came about is more complicated than he can relate. The point is that he saved his life when at the age of nineteen he learned that anger — like debt — grows bigger and uglier. Humor is like an inheritance — it creates power and opportunity.

This book started as a resource for Humor "R" Us club members to access the power of humor between meetings. Humor "R" Us is the national organization devoted to spreading the message that humor heals and is a gift from one person to another to improve the quality of life. Consider becoming a member and start your own club. Together, we can build communities of Good Cheer everywhere who truly appreciate how the Power of Humor can transform and empower our lives.

Forrest Wheeler originated the term "irrational humor" bringing into existence new ideas about using the power of humor. He demonstrate how humor can create the wonderful, happy lives that by birthright, we are all meant to experience. Laugh out loud one minute and be deeply moved the next.

In a recent interview with AuthorsintheSpotlight.com, Wheeler says "Becoming a clown empowered my life and enabled me to help others to heal and learn in ways only possible as a clown. Becoming a clown has opened up a wonderfully enriched new life."

Wheeler goes on to say, "We are born with a natural sense of humor which is suppressed in early childhood. We are taught that to be listened to, taken serious and seen as mature; we must present a quiet and serious personality. A active sense of humor enables us to create friendships, distance ourselves from unpleasant situations, makes us more productive and a healthier and happier person."
