In a move that wasn’t as surprising as some may think, Crypto.com, one of the world’s fastest-growing cryptocurrency platforms, has relocated its North American headquarters from the bustling streets of Miami to the heart of East Texas, setting up shop in Tyler’s Plaza Tower. This shift marks a significant change for the Singapore-based company, which now operates its U.S. base from downtown Tyler.

Founded in 2016, Crypto.com has quickly grown into a global powerhouse, serving over 80 million customers worldwide. The company’s President of North America, James Grabow, explained that when searching for a new office location, their primary goal was to find a central U.S. base—making the Dallas area an attractive candidate. But, as Grabow shared, the decision to land in Tyler came after an exploratory visit revealed the city’s hidden gems.

“In our search around Dallas, we found Tyler,” Grabow said. “We came to visit and found Tyler to be an amazing city with a Class A office building (Plaza Tower) and a lot of young talent driven by UT Tyler.”

Tyler’s affordability, growth potential, and youthful energy weren’t the only draws for Crypto.com. The city’s political climate, which supports business operations, also played a crucial role in the company’s decision to settle in East Texas. For now, the office houses Grabow and one other employee, though the company’s largely remote workforce will rotate in and out of the new headquarters, which has the capacity to accommodate around 20 employees—and room for future expansion.

Crypto.com’s presence in Tyler isn’t just about a headquarters relocation; it’s part of a broader vision to integrate with the local community and tap into its potential. Job opportunities are expected to follow, with future plans to offer internships and mentorship programs for students, particularly those from the University of Texas at Tyler.

“We will have people in here every day,” Grabow said, alluding to the company’s hybrid workforce structure. “Just not everybody every day.”

Crypto.com has been making waves in the sports world, too. Over the past few years, the company has struck high-profile partnerships with the UFC, FIFA, and Formula One racing, as well as securing the naming rights to the iconic Los Angeles venue formerly known as the Staples Center, now Crypto.com Arena.

As Crypto.com settles into its new East Texas home, the move is poised to make an impact not only on the company’s operations but also on the local economy and the community of Tyler, signaling the beginning of a potential tech hub in this fast-growing region.
