The Leadership Group was recognized during the 2021 AFBF FUSION Reimagined Conference which wrapped up March 13. Now in its 19th year, Harvest for All is spearheaded by members of Farm Bureau’s Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R), but Farm Bureau members of all ages from across the nation contribute to the effort.
Florida YF&R State Leadership Group President Ryan Armstrong praised the group for their efforts. “Every year presents new challenges to providing for those in need and 2020 was no exception,” he said.
“Previous Florida Farm Bureau YF&R Leadership Groups have set a very high standard by winning 1st place awards each year for total donations in the nation. The success of Harvest for All is made possible by amazing volunteers, grassroots efforts and endless support from county Farm Bureaus.
Our current YF&R Leadership Group would like to thank all the farmers, ranchers, Farm Bureau members and volunteers that help make Florida’s Harvest for All program the best in America,” Armstrong added.
Florida’s Young Farmers and Ranchers, with the support of county Farm Bureaus statewide, collectively volunteered 1,800 service hours and made a monetary contribution of $413 thousand, placing first in the nation in pounds of food and funds donated and second in hours volunteered.
Harvest for All is one of the most important community service efforts undertaken by Farm Bureau members. Activities associated with the campaign are organized by state and county Farm Bureaus.
Since Harvest for All was launched, Farm Bureau families nationwide have gathered 376 million pounds of food, logged more than 215,000 volunteer hours and raised $9.8 million in donations.
Florida Farm Bureau, the state’s largest general agricultural organization, represents more than 136,000 member-families. We serve to enhance farm enterprise and improve rural communities.
